UMHB Yell Leader Tryout Information
- Two tryout dates are set in the spring for the following year's cheerleaders, one being held the first Saturday of April and the second is usually the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of May.
- The clinic portion of tryouts starts at 8:00 am and ends at 12:00 pm for lunch. The actual tryout portion of the day will begin at 2:00 pm. The actual tryout is closed, but family and friends are welcome to attend the clinic portion.
- Immediately following both tryouts, a meeting will be held for all candidates who made the squad.

(All candidates must HAVE AND SHOW ALL requirements during the clinic portion in order to tryout.)
R E Q U I R E M E N T S
- All candidates are required to show the following:
- Toe Touch
- Standing Backhandspring (BHS) or Back Tuck (BT)
- A tumbling pass with at least 2 BHSs
Tumbling is a requirement and must be done without a spot.
- FEMALES: All females must be able to Base or Fly.
- MALES: All males must be able to co-ed with a minimum of Toss hands, Extension.
